To determine the appropriate usage of the platform storage lifter, please measure the height of the items you intend to stack on it. (B)  When the platform storage lifter is empty, it will hang 18 in (A) from the ceiling. If the height of your item exceeds this measurement, add 3 inches to account for the frame height, this will be the height your item will hang down from the ceiling. At its fully lowered position, the bottom of the frame reaches a height of 11 feet 9 inches (C) from your ceiling.
